Tony Teague and Mike Radford (of MARC Models) formed Electrifying Trains in order to respond to the growing demand for high quality Ready-to-Run O gauge models, but with a particular focus on the Electric Multiple Units of the Southern Railway and British Rail (Southern).

The initial release was an accurate and highly detailed model of the SR 2-HAL two coach design of which the Southern Railway built 92 examples between 1938 and 1940; the units worked all over the Southern systems until final withdrawal under British Rail in the early 1970’s.

The 2-HAL was followed by an equally impressive model of the HAL/BIL combination units that were formed following war & collision damage to certain units.

New in 2010 were models of the only SR articulated 2 car sets  and of the push-pull sets formed from former SE&CR railmotors; these represent the first non-electrified trains from Electrifying Trains! These interesting units were seen at various locations across the SR and BR(s) system and will form a very useful train for those modelling the SR / BR(s) steam era but with limited space.

Production runs of each Electrifying Trains release will be strictly limited and each hand-built model will be supplied with a certificate of authenticity.
